Ok, so it appears I missed some postings early on about blogging. I guess maybe since I didn't have much experience with it. I have spent some time of various message boards about subjects of interest but really haven't spent time looking at anyone's blog. I guess there really isn't somebody or some subject that I care enough about to read their blog routinely. Maybe I just need to spend some more time looking.
Thanks again for this opportunity. It was waaaay awesome.

missing blog 1
I'm not sure how it happened but I only ended up with 8 blogs - when I know 10 is the magical number. So, I was thinking I must have missed a week so I was going back checking and I realized that there was a make up week where I didn't post. So this is the post for that week. I figured I would take a moment and just say that this has been a great experience and I am appreciative of the opportunity to learn about all of the new things put forth in this learning. I definitely have a better understanding of podcasts, etc. and it was neat to create my first ever blog. I really didn't think i would neccessarily embrace writing on a blog but I actually dig it. Thanks for expanding my experiences and knowledge Learn 2.0!

MP3 player
I will use my mp3 player to download music and books to listen
in the car
on vacation
on an airplane
in a train
with a friend,
with a mouse
in a house,
on Tuesday,
or Thursday,
or any day, that I want.
MP3 is what I need!

digital music - the way of the future
I think trying to control the uncontrollable is a losing battle and a waste of time. That is how I feel about digital music and anthing else available online. The nature of the web and what is available on it lends itself to sharing and people - as long as they retain their anonymity - will find a way to use this power to share with other people. I don't know what kind of fall out will happen with the music industry but if I was them I would start thinking of some alternatives because this fight in my opinion was over before it began.

Yay! for online learning
Yep, I like online learning. In fact, I received a Masters online (FSU). I like taking my time and looking at what is available and working through things and trying something out or not. It is a great way to learn.

Deal or no Deal!
Blufr was fun and I did some puzzles and games on the puzzle player. I had a Deal or No Deal revelation - this game is just as unfun to play as it is to watch. One major difference between the online game and the one on TV - I was able to begin and end the game in about 5 minutes where the game show with Howie Mandel takes an hour - sometimes more.

What's next?
I read today about about a tv so thin that you can bend it. It is little too! The makers aren't sure what to do with it but hey they created it. Maybe sew it on a shirt? Maybe glue it to a hand bag, back pack, European carryall? Talk about mashup. As far as favorite library technology goes. There really is so much out there. Right now, my favorite is my library tv. I just like it.

youtube & myspace
I knew the library had a presence in myspace and youtube so I wasn't surprised. I think it is great that OCLS is keeping up with the times by finding out what is happening and then figuring out how to be a part of it. Youtube is great and the very first time I went there I loved how easy it was. A lot of time it seems like videos take forever to play on my computer but not at YouTube.

Lynette's second blog
In Wikipedia I searched for Kurds. I am reading a book and one of the stories was about a guy that goes in search of the "ghost tiger" in Turkey and he mentions the Kurdish people a lot. I have heard this group of people mentioned in the news but realized I didn't know much about them. So the wikipedia was very helpful. The Kurdish people come from Kurdistan which includes regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Armenia. They have faced a history of war and poverty and have struggled to create an independent Kurdistan which has been met with resistance from Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Turkey. I noticed that editing was locked "until disputes have been resolved." So I'm assuming that someone put some controversial or disputable info in this entry.
In grokker I grokked Robert Heinlein. I really liked what it found and have book marked the site and plan to use it often. I also liked how the links were displayed. He died in his sleep at the age of 81 from emphysema and congestive heart failure in 1988, which is too bad because you think a guy that wrote about superhumans would somehow be one but alas he was a mere mortal. Anyway, he sure left us with some awesome scifi and coined words that are used to this day.
My learning style is definitely a combo of reading, watching and doing. I can't really say that I am all one thing but I can say that if I really want to retain it I need to actually do it. Learn 2.0 is great because it is a combo as well which is perfect for me.
