Search vs. navigation

I'm a fan of searching not of navigation. Those little GPS devices that are becoming more and more popular seem like cheating to me and really takes all the fun out of finding your way! I checked out the search engines listed and have used Bing before and liked it. Google is a sentimental favorite and really still does the best job gathering relevant search results in my opinion. Not a fan of the visual search engine, Quintura, just not the way my brain works. The others were ok but still far inferior than Google and Bing also.

Mobile Web

I just have a regular cellphone that has the ability to access the internet but I don't ever use it because it costs money and I really haven't had a need to. It does appear though that the mobile Web is gaining steam and really becoming a force to be reckonned with. I could see myself in several years maybe purchasing some sort of Smartphone. Probably not an Iphone because of the cost and the provider (AT&T). It will be interesting to see the direction of Mobile technology. It does feel like we are at the beginning of something greater than what it is currently.

Second Life

I created a second life account quite awhile ago. I think it was 2 years ago. I wandered around and learned to fly. Fun. I haven't used it since that first initial time. I know that you can do all sorts of things with it. H&R block has an island and answers tax questions. I do think that this type of technology has staying power and is influencing the way we do things, offer things, communicate, etc. There is a lot of potential here and it will be interesting to watch if it really takes off and becomes more common.

I did look at the two websites and signed up for both. I spent a little time looking at them but I think I need to spend more time to really get a good grasp on what they can do for me.

Back in the Saddle

After being away for a bit I'm back and looking to expand my Learn 2.0 knowledge to Learn 2.1 knowledge. I have to admit - when the instructions said find your blog that you created for Learn 2.0 I drew a blank. But, obviously I found it.

Missing blog 2

Ok, so it appears I missed some postings early on about blogging. I guess maybe since I didn't have much experience with it. I have spent some time of various message boards about subjects of interest but really haven't spent time looking at anyone's blog. I guess there really isn't somebody or some subject that I care enough about to read their blog routinely. Maybe I just need to spend some more time looking.
